Artist's Comments

34.3 million polygons, 1 HyperTerrain "Pointy" in front, 1 8192x8192 standard terrain, 1 HD Tree (customized), and a full Spectral2 atmosphere.

This is going to be the "official image" of my new website (coming soon).

[UPDATE]
I rendered this again at 6000px, so now you can get prints of this if you want. The full-view is limited to 1600, but still better than the 1280 it was before! :)

What did you use Terragen2, Maya? Vue?
:iconnukeation:

Thank you.

The HyperTerrain (front) was modelled in Vue itself using four levels of displacement applied on a cylinder primitive. The terrain in the back was made in World Machine 2.

I think that rock pillar you have in the foreground is the best one you've ever created  I read "four levels of displacement" up there, so did you displace it once, set it to that shape and then repeated three more times? that must ahve made a killer polygon count for that thing alone :faint:

What I like best about this one is it's much more "artistic" more than just "a realistic render", it has good depth that suggest the mountain in the back is massive and really far, and perhaps each little gritty spot on its slopes would be a clump of rock like in the foreground :D and it also has a nice composition too, the tree and terrain, although significantly different in size - still play equal values in this
