p.s. I saw your scenes coming with new Vue 7 packages. Procedural terrains are very light there - as I understand they are not procedural at all. Nice techniques man. Actually looking forward to you book - I hope you cover all of these...
Well, basically, the atmosphere and the material do the trick. The terrains were some I have had for some time. I quickly re-rendered them to a high resolution in WM2 and imported them into Vue. Slapped on my trademark "Rock X" material and that was it. The terrain in the back is incidentally the same as the "Peak" scene in the Vue 7 Extras CD. That one is lower-res but this one was 4096x4096, I think.
Keep your eyes open for a new "deconstruction" I'll be posting in a few hours. Working on it right now.
